BLR NEW AMTRAK GENESIS LOCOMOTIVE

Well its been awhile since I last posted and in the mean time I attended a trains show in Tatagouche N.S. Canada and I was able to buy a LGB Amtrax Genesis Diesel locomotive #174 for $199.00 new in the box and never opened. Just could not resist buying this locomotive even though I really didn't need it. I am presently working on my Pennse LGB Makido Steam locomotive and turning it into D&RGW #1202 with a doghouse on the tender. Awaiting decals so I can get started. Not planning on doing tomuch during the summer month. Hope to get back to regular postings in the fall.

BLR LGB 2-8-2 MIKADO

About two weeks ago I bought myself a second hand LGB Mikado from WINONA GARDEN RAILWAY in Guelph Ontario Canada. It being the Pennsy 2-8-2 model. It came with factory installed MTS Decorder and Sound. The locomotive not only sounds great but it is beautiful, I just love it. BLR HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Well its been awhile, not doing much in the line of model railroading these days, to busy getting ready for xmas.At this time I would just like to wishes everybody a very HAPPY HOLIDAYS and hope that everybody has a great holiday.

BLR DARTMOUTH NS TRAIN SHOW

Visited the Dartmouth trains show last weekend. No G SCALE, but the show was great as usual. Met a lot of friends and got up on happenings since we last met. Bought a couple of train videos. Not much happening these day except that I am getting ready to put up the tree for Xmas and have my LGB Train set running around it, so with that HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone and hope that everybody has a great time. BLR TRURO TRAIN SHOW

Spent last Saturday at the Truro model train show. Truro is a small town in Nova Scotia about 60 miles outside of Halifax NS. The show as usual was very good, lots of clubs with excellent module displays set up and lots of vendors. I got to talk to a lot of my railroad buddies that I haven't seen for a while. I sold my Aristo Pacific mainly because I haven't run it since i bought it and felt that somebody else could get better use out of it. I did manage to fined a USA Trains CP Centerbeam Flat at a good price so I bought it. I wanted to by the new book that was coming out on LGB it is called Comendium it is about 1500 pages and had everything on LGB from 1968 to 2011, very detailed but the book at present only comes in German. Maybe someday they will translate it into English, certaily will by it if it comes out. Bye for now HAPPY RAILROADING.

BLR PASSENGER HAVE LIGHTING

Greg Hatt of Maritime Hobbies and Crafts has just installed new LED Strip Lighting, with an on and off switch and a 9 volt battery to operate them in my D&RGW Passenger cars. Each car has it own set up so the cars don't have to be coupled up all the time. Greg did a wonderful job on these cars and I am very pleased with the job. They sure look great running on my layout. You can see a video of these cars on You Tube, just type in BLR LGB and the videos along with others of my layout will be there.

BLR - LIGHTING LGB PASSENGER CARS

 Was just into Maritime Hobbies and Crafts in Halifax NS and gave them my two LGB Yellow passenger cars, and a Yellow LGB Combine car to have lighting put into them. They are going to use LED Strip lighting and wire it to a 9 volt battery with a on and off switch.This work is being done by Greg and I am really looking forward to them. It certainly will change the appearance of these cars and I will be able to get some night shots with the lights on.
